How Does Raising My Vibration Impact My Wellness?

Everything on earth vibrates at a certain frequency—living beings and objects.

The lower the frequency, the denser the energy, and the more all-encompassing problems seem. Things take a lot of effort, and we experience heavy emotions, pain, and discomfort in the physical body.

The higher the frequency, the lighter the energy. We experience greater personal power, clarity, peace, love, and joy when in higher vibrations.

As we work to clear ourselves through our spiritual practices and or self-growth work, we begin to raise our vibrations. There is a natural purification that begins, and we leave behind patterns that are not serving our highest good any longer.

The more we practice, the greater our instinct to purify—we become more aware of what we're putting into our systems as we change the situations we find ourselves in, the people we're around, the music we listen to, and the way we ingest food and entertainment. We become lighter, energetically. As this happens, we change physically, mentally, and emotionally.

While it’s true that denser energies can’t exist in a higher vibration (and a lot of the energies that cause dis-ease are dense), it’s important to remember that we have many energy bodies, and they don’t all move forward at the same rate. They vary in density, and they don’t all get the same amount of our attention.

Sensitive spiritual people generally have our mental and spiritual work down. It’s the physical and emotional bodies where we usually run into resistance and problems. They are denser, so we are not as comfortable working with them.

Dis-ease calls to us for attention way before it lands in our physical body. We are afforded many opportunities to address it on the mental and emotional planes. Once things land in the physical, they are the hardest to address and release because the density is greatest. Nothing is impossible, but will usually take time, effort, and dedication.

Our discomfort with the emotional body mostly stems from our refusal to feel our entire range. Deeming certain feelings inappropriate for spiritual people to experience, we cut ourselves off from feelings like anger and sadness on one end of the spectrum, making it impossible for us to reach the heights of happiness and joy on the other. We end up living in this murky mid-range instead of the moments of joy that can actually raise our vibrations quickly!

We also spiritually or compassionately bypass our feelings about a person’s actions or a situation, making excuses and denying ourselves the chance to process appropriately. Meeting our feelings head-on and asking what they have to teach us allows them to wash through and accomplish their mission instead of getting stuffed down inside.

Using all of our spiritual tools and our superpowers of compassion to clean up what’s left after this processing is incredibly powerful, and this is actually the proper order of things.

Though raising your vibration will help you to increase your overall wellness, it is erroneous to think that you might never get sick. There are many factors to consider, and there have been countless books and articles written on them, so we’ll just focus on a few of the things we rarely think about.

When we look at genetic predisposition to dis-ease, we need to look at a couple of things—the physical expression of the genes, AND learned behaviors that contribute to the activation of said genes. It’s a true nature/nurture conversation, and raising our vibrations works on both factors. Our behaviors will naturally change, and things like epigenetics and energy work can address the inherited genes.

Then there’s karma. We’ve been given Divine dispensation in the recent past, which means that we can move through a lot of our karmic cycle (smaller karmas) much more quickly. As a result, we may be clearing hundreds of lifetimes in this one incarnation. This dispensation has been such a blessing and is allowing the earth and the living beings to vibrationally shift as quickly as we are.

There are also our soul lessons—the things that we, as individualized souls—chose to work on and learn this time around. These lessons are integral to our growth, that we have agreed to go through whatever it takes to learn them.

We also have to consider our deeper soul lessons, the things that are non-negotiables—our bigger karmas. These are huge learnings that we often must work through over the course of many, many lifetimes. These are still at play, even when our vibrations are as high as they can go.

Remembering that these and other factors are all interconnected is very important to our process because it keeps us out of the blame game when we become ill.

Vibrational Shaming

This is a term describing that thing that happens when we shame people (including ourselves) for becoming ill, citing that their spiritual work should have, in some way, insulated them from that experience. We ignore all of the other factors that could possibly contribute to the illness and only focus on this one.

Everything we do outwardly, we do approximately 100x more inwardly, which means there is no rest when we become ill ourselves. Our inner critic begins with the incessant questions and striving, “Where did I go wrong? What didn’t I do? I know I missed something. I should have practiced more/longer/with more dedication.”

We move into a state of defensiveness or judgment, and this closes off our energy right when we need its support the most. Instead of activating our energy from inside of us and using it to heal, we bring it outside and use it to clobber ourselves—lowering our vibration in the process.

Life Is Not a Straight Line

Remember, life is not a straight line. There will be times when we dip into lower vibration or soar into higher vibration, seemingly unexplained. When we can just be where we are—without judgment—we are able to listen in and figure out what we need to do, if and how we need to change things.

We are called to exist on this earth in a comfortable way, as part of her ecosystem. This beautiful planet loves and supports us implicitly, yet we consistently energetically divorce ourselves from her.

Our greatest success in terms of wellness and feeling alive is to raise our vibrations in such a way that we are able to keep our feet on the ground in order to create and co-creating a more magical experience in the here and now.
