How To Show Up As a Spiritual Human In Times of Turmoil

As a world, we're going through some things, and have been for quite a while. We, here, have been wondering how, as spiritual people, it is acceptable to respond? How do we show up when so much energy is swirling? Yet, we understand that this moment is our opportunity to create what comes next.

We know we’re on the path to greater Light, but there are so many conflicting emotions to deal with. We all have feelings. About everything. And it’s important to honor and process them. Feelings are not facts and are not intrinsically right or wrong. They are integral to our process because they point us in a direction to learn more about ourselves and our Work in the world.

Despite how we're feeling, it’s important that we seek to return to a place of love—functioning from our heart center. Pulling ourselves out of the mind and back to the heart will allow us to be guided to what comes next. What is the next thought? Action? Emotion? Connection?

It’s easy to be in judgment—good/bad, right/wrong, yes/no. We each see the world through our own lens colored by our experiences. This doesn’t make our perspective any more true or untrue than anyone else’s. Moving to our heart releases us from the limitations of myopia into a greater degree of omniscience. This automatically moves us from judgment into discernment.

The world needs Love, and we all know it. But in order to cultivate it, we need to listen to each other—to be fully present and hear without distraction. No matter what packaging the soul who's in front of you is encased in (who they are, what they believe, or which fears they are operating from), we need to remember that we are all equally beautiful points of light, created by the same force and that we all go back home to the same One.

This helps us to listen with respect, (NOTE: This DOES NOT include or excuse someone who is being verbally or emotionally abusive.) and be open to seeking to understand their framework, the lens they are seeing through, and their fears and hopes. Then the most amazing miracle happens. We often begin to see the common ground between us. And all it takes is the ability to listen with presence and without judgment.

We don’t have the right to cancel another person's life experience because it is different than ours. Their experience has led them to the place where they are standing, and we need to allow for that. This opening brings us into openness, compassion, and understanding—even if we don’t agree. Communicating without fear or emotional charge will enable us to build bridges, in the interest of creating a world that functions better for everyone.

We need to commit to coming back to conversations, even when they are difficult, instead of running away, which is the reason so much discordant energy was hiding in the shadows in the first place. We are here to disrupt the patterns that have been repeating for so long in order to open space for a new and higher ideal and its energy.

LOVE is the ultimate disrupter!

Try it next time you’re in the middle of an argument. Take a breath and come back to the energy of “I love you.” There's an instantaneous shift that takes place—often confusion on the other person’s part—and the pattern is interrupted. You've changed the way you're thinking and acting in that moment by coming back to the heart.

This doesn't mean we ignore problems and pretend they don't exist. That’s how we got into this mess. What it means is to come back to the heart center and be led from there, through TRUTH, instead of from lower chakra fear. Today, many humans are stuck there in the energy of fear and survival. Realizing where the person you are speaking with is in that place will help you to communicate appropriately, effectively, and with great compassion.

The question we need to continuously be asking ourselves is, “How can I come back to my heart so that it can take the lead?” And, at the same time, we need to be cultivating our minds so that we are in control of our thoughts. In this way, we don’t fall victim to anything outside of ourselves. Running things through our innate heart monitor (instead of just the mind) allows us to feel what’s True and prevents us from being hooked into energies and powerful thought loops, without our awareness or consent.

Things shared over the internet don't have to be true, and often are not. It's important for us to accept that WE need to be the regulators of what we bring into our own consciousness.

Slowing our thoughts down so we can observe them, brings us back to our power and the ability to make choices. How do we do that? Through meditation, prayer time, monotasking, conscious breathing, movement, and our other spiritual practices.

As the love warriors of the world, where we go next is less about our perspective and more about coming back to the heart so that we can be led by our higher selves as opposed to having our thoughts cultivated for us. We also desperately need to be able to listen to and hear each other and be able to commit to returning to difficult conversations when the emotional charge is gone.

We are called to show up in the world today as people of action that has been birthed through Truth and heart. We are called to be the bridge-builders from where we have been to where we are going through LOVE and the help of our Divine Teams.

We don't have to do it alone anymore.
